WEEH ROUNDUP: Renault does the Twingo with Nokia and Ferrari trademarks GT California

Renault gave details on its new limited edition model for which it has collaborated with Nokia. The Twingo Nokia comes with an emphasis on built-in communication features; no wonder it has Nokia in its name. Speculations have been rife about Ferrari’s new car with news of the Dino as well as the successor to Enzo doing the rounds.

With Ferrari getting the trademark for GT California, the rumourmill is churning again, will the new model be called GT California?

Renault’s limited edition Twingo Nokia: Renault partnered with Nokia to bestow the Twingo with three new in-car entertainment and communication systems.

So, the Twingo got a music player that is mp3 compatible and has a connector for iPod, a navigation system that uses the new 6110 from Nokia and a hands-free Bluetooth control that facilitates the transfer of the call to the car’s speakers and turns off the radio to avoid interference.

Tinted rear windows, a central pillar that’s designed to speak of the Nokia association and rear seats that can move 220mm also make their presence felt in the Twingo Nokia.

The car is priced at €12,950 and will reach French showrooms later this month followed by releases all over Europe.

The next Ferrari may be called GT California:

Ferrari had applied for a ‘Ferrari GT California’ trademark in December 2006, but was denied; this time around, Ferrari has got hold of the trademark and set the guessing game on fire.

This trademark could be the name of the vehicle which till now has been called the potential new Dino, or could be an entirely new car priced below the F430 and pitted against Aston Martin V8 Vantage; speculators seem more inclined on the latter.
